Dear Birthmother, Hello! We are Becky and Kris, and we are thankful that you are taking the time to read about our family. We are a military family who have been called to adopt. We offer stability, heaps of love, and infinite possibilities for your child. Becky’s father was adopted in 1945, and we located his birthmother and living family members in 2007, which has been an amazing privilege. Kris’s grandmother was adopted, and Kris’s mother was actually a birthmother herself, and now has an open relationship with her daughter for the last twenty years. We have been fortunate to have had such wonderful experiences with adoption in our family, and as we like to say, neither of us would be here without adoption! About Us We have been married almost seven years and are experienced parents to a five year old girl and three year old boy. As a military family, we have traveled extensively, but we enjoy the financial stability and other benefits of the military lifestyle, including excellent health care. We have a vast extended family and a large network of friends. About Becky by Kris Becky is the love of my life, the rock of our family, and center of all our lives. She is a loving stay at home mom to our children and runs our household, which gives us a great sense of stability. She enjoys being able to volunteer at our children's kindergarten and preschools. Prior to beginning our family, Becky enjoyed a successful career with the Department of Defense, but she is now fulfilled by raising our sweet, happy children. When she has free time, she enjoys exercising, reading, and making glass pendant jewelry. About Kris by Becky I knew that I would marry Kris within our first two dates. Kris is a wonderful and supportive husband and father. He makes a point of telling us all how much he loves us every day. He works hard in his military career, but we all know it is important work for not only his family, but for our country. He enjoys hanging with the kids, reading at bedtime, and playing guitar with the children. Being a father is his greatest achievement. About Our Children Olivia is a very bright and artistic five year old. She loves dressing up as a princess and doing art projects. Colin is a sweet three year old who enjoys playing outside and going on stroller rides. He loves to fix things and pretending to be a detective. A highlight for us was a visit to Disneyland a few months ago--we had a blast! We spend our time playing outdoors, going to neighborhood parks, baking, and doing arts and crafts, especially paintings. We love to cuddle during movie time with a big bowl of popcorn. Our children are encouraged to engage in their interests, whether it be sports, art, or other activities. We have done ballet, swimming lessons, kung fu, and gymnastics lessons. They are so excited to be a big brother or big sister. About Our Home We are currently living in Northern California in a gated golf course community. We have a spacious four bedroom, three bath home with a wonderful playroom. We have access to a lake for swimming as well as a community pool, plus many great parks and playgrounds. About Our Faith We have strong faith in God, and we always make weekly church attendance a priority. We feel it is important to give our children a spiritual foundation, and we always search for a church that will offer the children a wonderful program. We pray before our meals together, and Olivia’s favorite bedtime stories are from her Bible. We have also been blessed to have access to terrific Christian preschool programs. Because we are not always living close to family, our church becomes an extension of our family.
